I invite you to deepen your engagement with your healing in the following ways, and in whatever way feels right to you. Remember, you don’t “have” to do any of this to receive the benefits of a shamanic reiki session! But by slowing down a little, as you are able, and spending time with natural elements – plants, water, fire, etc. – you enhance your ability to be present with the healing processes already at work.
Suggestions for Before the Session:
· Pay attention to any dreams, synchronicities, insights, and energy shifts after committing to the session, especially within the two days prior to the actual session
· Reflect on what you hope to get out of your session
· Drink a lot of water and eat healthily and more lightly than normal 24-48 hours before the session
· Spend as much time in nature as you can
· Try doing 1-2 pages of inner-directed writing the day before or of the session to encourage feelings to bubble to the surface
· Ask for a healing dream the night before the session
· Take a warm relaxing bath or doing some other type of renewing physical activity before the session
· Wearing loose, comfortable, and natural fiber clothing for the session
· Be ‘present’ en-route to the healing session: for example, if driving turn off the radio, etc. and approach the day as a sacred mini retreat
Suggestions for After the Session:
The reiki energy takes a few days to integrate fully. During that time, you can assist this process by:
· Drinking a lot of water to flush the body and facilitate healing
· Spending as much time in nature as you can
· Journaling your experiences and recording insights/dreams/synchronicities that emerge in the next few days
· Gentle rhythmic exercise to get you out of your head and into your body (walking, yoga, dance, tai chi, etc)
· Practicing radical self-compassion
· Sleeping and resting as much as possible
· Giving yourself the space you need for processing
· Doing something FUN that brings you JOY
I am available to you if something comes up. Please contact me if you find you need additional support.
